The Order of Operations tells in us what order ( x / + -) to complete parts of a sum. For example: 3 + 7 x 2 = 20 is incorrect, as I have answered the question left to right and I have not followed the rules of 'Order of Operation' which is PEMDAS. If I use PEMDAS (or BEMDAS or even BIMDAS for those of us who are old school :D) to answer the sum 3 + 7 x 2= I would know that I would have to do the Multiplication FIRST!
3 + 7 x 2=

I would love to add a student's GoAnimate video here about PEMDAS. When you have created one send me the embed code!

Once you are comfortable with the Order of Operations, have a go at these handouts. The rules are on a document on the left (if you forget) and you can always re-watch the videos and songs if you need help. Or message me on Edmodo or on the contact page :D
